Project description

The designed tank is used for the storage of 20,000 m³ of water-polluting substances and was classified as a "LAU" facility according to VAwS. The retention in the sense of a secondary barrier was designed and constructed as an uncoated impermeable surface in accordance with DAfStb guideline BUmwS as a circumferential combined reinforced concrete containment space.

Optimisation with SFRC
  • Reduction of the slab thickness by optimising the position of the neutral axis in the cross-section towards the tensioned side (increase of the bending pressure zone) -> economic aspect
  • Significant reduction of the crack width-limiting reinforcement by more than half -> optimal constructability / economic aspect
  • Greater potential on the resistance side regarding tightness -> durability is crucial
Slab thickness

75 cm Bodenplatte + 80cm Sockel = 155 cm
